Gaia GPS was an app originally designed for backpacking and hiking in the California Sierra mountains.
Since its inception, I have been the primary graphic designer for Gaia GPS. This includes the design and illustration of the company's logo, app icon, splash screen, as well as a myriad of map icons and miscellaneous illustrations for both the website and app.
The branding represents technology and nature. The leaf/stem/tree branch can be interpreted as a trail and the background as an abstraction of topography.
