The Flying Squirrel is a nostalgic children's emporium featuring unique toys, imported games, local handmade items, books, and The Copper Penny Candy Stand & Ice Creamery.

I was asked to design a logo and help with the overall graphic design and branding of this new shop.

The genesis of the design began with the squirrel. We wanted to evoke Victorian whimsy while adding a unique font/typography specific to the shop. The result is fun and playful while keeping the feel vintage and timeless.

To gel the shop name, the logo, and the overall vintage feel, we were inspired by the fantastical flying machines from the 1800s. They were mechanical yet stylish and embraced the possibilities of the time. This sentiment is in perfect alignment with the mission of the client. Wonderment, timeless classics, imagination, and stylish whimsy.
